I used to work at S.I.R. ( Studio Instrument Rentals) Rehearsal Studios on Santa Monica and Vine in Hollywood from early 1974 thru the end of 1975. I was blessed to have been able to listen to Kenny in rehearsal more than once, up close and personal as they say. He had such a pure tone and simply amazing vocal control. His guitar work put so many others to shame. I'm listening to the promotional copy of Silver Morning he handed to me at the end of one session as I type this. It is so soothing and wonderful, it takes me right back to those "better" days. Thank you so much, Mr. Rankin.
Admittedly, I haven't kept up on his career after the studio days. When I read of his passing, I cried. He was one of the few truly gifted, nice people in the industry.
