It does still hurt that he's gone but listening to and enjoying and reveling in his artistry has helped. His spirit lives on and his wonderful music is ours forever. No, it's not the same as having him still here, being able to watch him on stage singing in that effortlessly beautiful clear voice or listening to his funny banter - not by a damn sight. But the music is what he left to those of us who knew his genius and that is something special.
