To Kenny's family & fellow fans:

I was crushed to read in People magazine that Kenny passed away. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed his music. I first heard him way back in 1977 when I was 17 ys. old. His version of "As My Guitar Gently Weeps" was so moving and beautiful; every time I hear it, I love it. About 25 years later, when I was doing a web search on his name I could not believe that he was going to be doing a very small concert at the community college I attended MANY moons ago! Of course, I went & was blown away; time had not taken a toll on his voice...it was just as good if not better than what I'd heard on the CD that, by this time, I'd practically worn out! I saw him again a year later at the college and then at the Bendheim Center in Larchmont, NY. Fantastically talented, he was so humble and loving toward his family (he talked about singing "Blackbird" to his kids and was so personable.) I will miss him terribly and am thankful that I will still be able to listen to his CDs and watch his DVD.

I send out much love to his family. The world has lost a wonderful instrument in Kenny Rankin.
