It is with deeply saddened feelings I write to say goodbye to Kenny Rankin, upon learning of his passing on June 8th. I am a huge fan and admirer of his music and work. I had met Mr. Rankin several times over the last 30 years - from Arcata to San Diego. The last time being at the Westgate Hotel in San Diego where he was staying for a Children's Hospital Christmas benefit. He signed all of the vinyl albums I had...and then played me a song at the piano. It was very touching. I invited him to come to play golf...talked about his latest project and then he told me not to worry about playing in a lounge...he knew exactly what it was all about - the ups and downs. I wished I could have talked to him more..but he was out and gone. I cannot tell you how many times I have worn out the vinyl on the albums...My deep and abiding love to Mr. Rankin's family and friends. Please inform me, if you will, of any public Celebration of his life, or Memorial. I am a friend of the Agape Spiritual Center and am Artistic Director of Seaside Center for Spiritual Living, here in Encinitas, CA. Thanks immensely. In Highest Love, Rev.
