My sister just gave me the news of Kenny's death. I am completely saddened and depressed to hear about this. I feel terrible for his family, particularly his children, of whom he always spoke about with such love and pride.

Mr. Rankin was a great artist to the end. I recently made a mix CD including his lovely version of "Misty Roses" and Emilie-Claire Barlow's cover of his "Haven't We Met?" which was obviously inspired by Kenny's own version. I was listening to both today on my car stereo. It's horrible to realize that there will never be any more songs and performances from this precious talent.

Thank you, Kenny, for everything you gave to us. You had the voice of an angel, and I guess they just got lonely for it. Rest in peace.
