Hi, Kenny,
Nice to be here. I've always considered you 1 of the greatest musical talents in the world today (not blowing smoke, or smoking blow). And, you've definitely influenced my own music.
I saw you 25 or 30 yrs. ago at the Santa Cruz, CA civic auditorium (Feliciano had been there a couple wks. before you). After you'd done a couple tunes, someone yelled from the back, "We can't hear you back here!" You answered, "We're doing the best we can". You were kinda edgy back then, probly weary from the road, saying, "I do 1 album a yr., then play the @#$% out of it. It's been that way for a long time, folks" (word for word account, according to my photographic memory for conversation). Just wanted to let you know that the guy who yelled wasn't trying to give you a hard time. When Feliciano was there, he asked the people in the back if they could hear ok. Well, I'm sure you don't remember (& nobody else does, either); but, I wanted to tell you, that night, what that was about, as you seemed a little bummed for the 1st part of your set. So, I've fullfilled my longtime, self-imposed obligation. (8^>)
Recently got your Jazz Channel concert; it was wonderful. And, you're so mellow these days! (8^>) Don't ever stop playing, man! Nobody else is doing anything even close!
