Dear Kenny,
The first time I saw you in concert was the first time I saw George Carlin in concert --
November 4, 1972, at the Palace Theatre in Manhattan. In the last 35-plus years I can't
think of many other evenings that were as perfect as that one, between your amazing
voice and George's incredible humor. I just read that you sang at his memorial service,
which, despite the circumstances, seems just the right way to close the circle.
