Hi Kenny -- I can't recall any longer when or where I heard my first cut from The Kenny Rankin Album, but I doubt I could sleep until I got my hands on the vinyl. In addition to enjoying the music on my own, I'd rock my daughters -- babies then -- on nights when they were fussy as they listened to "When Sunny Gets Blue" and "You Are So Beautiful." I was so happy that the album was released as a CD, and still play those lush arrangements from time to time. Now of course it's my grandchildren who are hearing them along with me. Though I own most of your recordings, there's nothing to compare with the rich memories that surface when I hear your "Rainy Day" again. Until I bumped into this forum recently, I didn't realize I'd have the opportunity to thank you for being a little part of my family all these years. I treasure the role you've filled.
