Hi Kenny,
Have you ever- or maybe the question is how often have you- considered or been approached about doing an album of strictly Beatle tunes? I know you've sort of "been there, done that" on your various albums, but I would think that some- Unfortunate and Ignorant- who are unaware of you might notice the title of such an album and at least give it a sampling (and then think "Wow!" and buy it.
The thought of putting "I've Just Seen a Face" on a 4th album may make you wince, but dang, you do the DEFINITIVE version! I could live without 'My Guitar...', but would love to hear 'A Little Help' with an ever-so-slight update. Penny Lane? You've been there as well, I guess, but again... definitive.
Some possibilities:
All My Loving (Whe the Sun Comes Out tempo)
And I Love Her (Slightly more Brazilian twist?)
Tell Me Why (Why Do Fools Fall... type of arrangement)
Here, There and Everywhere
Eleanor?
It's Getting Better? (Funky, with lots of bla-da-das)
Fixing a Hole (Surely your jazzer buddies would have some thoughts)
I'm Looking Through You (Loose and swingy)
If I Needed Someone, or
I Need You
Norwegian Wood?
You Won't See Me?
Oh Darling (Bluesy, a la Benson's version)
There are obviously a lot of good songs not listed, but so many can turn out schmaltzy, unoriginal (even for you) and, in many cases with so many artists, sounding ridiculous. (Even someone who has done 'definitive' versions must have some hesitation after hearing some of the tribute tripe.)
Just wondering how much it has crossed your mind. You are the best!
