I listened to Kenny's albums for years before I got the rare chance to see him live in a super intimate setting in a small club. There must of been less than 50 of people there, and I thought, "wow, what a treat, maybe I can chat with him a bit about his guitar playing", as I was a young curious guitarist at the time.
At the break, I ran into him in the hallway and praised his playing and asked how he had learned to play that unique style, hoping to receive insight and perhaps some helpful guidance. In a heartbeat, he glanced at me through the corner of his eye, and declared, "self-taught", then briskly walked away.
"WHAT A DICK!!!", I thought.
I still enjoy his music, but the man is an asshole.
