I've been a fan of yours for over thirty years. Your music has a way of intoxicating my soul, you know? Perhaps "intoxicating" isn't the best choice of words, but where a lot of music has the ability to move or touch a person in some fashion...yours goes well beyond that place to move and touch core areas. I'm sure you understand exactly what I'm talking about, as I'm certain you've heard this from others. My question is this. I've been kind of exploring MySpace for music and artists this past week (quite a newby to that area) and found you...but it wasn't actually you. However, the most amazing song and only song of yours to be found was titled, "What Matters Most." It was the first time I had ever heard it, but I believe those of us with a gray hair or two can relate to that song. It's no longer available on any of your CDs, however.
So I guess I have a request...I know it may be just another thing you have to fit into your schedule...as we all seem to be so busy with our lives...but there are so many that could be exposed to your music were you on MySpace. Just a few songs of your choosing, but especially...What Matters Most. I know MySpace gets a lot of negative spin, but many of the major music artists are there so that those that love to listen and explore music, like me...can.
I not only work with music every single day, but I direct a foundation that freely supplies music and players for patients to listen to during their medical procedures or treatments (cancer, dialysis). We all understand how comforting music can be. I'm just fortunate to be able to bring that to light for those so filled with fear and anxiety.
One last thing...I often spend down time at my computer listening to music. One day a few of my grandchildren came by and heard "Blackbird" playing. Each time I saw them once having heard that song, they asked to sit on my lap and listen to it...and especially loved to hear it through the headphones. But I understood exactly what they were feeling. It becomes so personal to one's spirit.
So back to the request...It's a shame that your music isn't represented on MySpace. You are one of those rare talents that needs to remain open to a world that is stuggling with so many problems.
