I saw Kenny in Tampa this month (sounds odd to call him Kenny:He's always been Kenny Rankin to me- like peanut butter...each word can be used alone in various ways, but put them together and it's something great)
I've listened to him for decades but this was my first opportunity to see him in concert. I was wondering how it would be to see him in a solo performance, but from the first few bars of the first song, you could see him hearing all the instrumentation. Simply having him and his guitar/piano was just right. What an amazing singer he is. His phrasing, his voice and range are phenominal.
Kenny Rankin is class all the way.
