I've been an avid fan of Kenny Rankin since I firast heard his songs broadcast over the shortwave emanating from Clark Air Base back in 1976. I was 19, a struggling folksinger in Manila then, but after hearing Kenny, I decided this was the direction I wanted my music to take. Since then, people who've heard me say I sound just like Kenny Rankin, and not only when I sing his songs. I'm still performing, just like Kenny, and now have a repertoire of light jazz, bossa nova and standard songs, not to mention the folksongs I started out with. Thank you Kenny Rankin for providing me with my musical direction. Saw your performances in Manila, but always thought you were best performing solo in an intimate setting. Hope we could meet someday soon! Thank you!
