Perhaps I should have worded my post differently. And for that I apologize to the fellow posters and to Kenny. What I meant was when an album is in high demand and the product produced comes out and turns out to have some imperfections that something should be done about it by the person who put out said product. And yes it is disappointing when you are waiting for a great album like "Silver Morning" to come out on CD and you want to "wrap yourself up in the music" but then it is spoiled by either background noice or distortion. I NEVER meant that Kenny purposely put out a bad CD.
If my post was read carefully, I DID say perhaps Kenny was working with the best source he had. After all the album IS about 30yrs old.I just wanted to inquire what source was used.
If all you have is a scratchy old vinyl copy, then yes this CD is a vast improvement. But in my case my vinyl copy is near mint. And yes with the "technology" we have today I was expecting something better than I have. There are also ways to even digitally enhance the recording that is available to recording artists these days.
Like Modox I was expressing my disappointment I didn't mean to complain, but I guess it came off that way.
But stop jumping down my throat about it already. o.k.
