No disrespect taken at all. My point was that six of the tracks are still available at a substantially reduced price than the $24.00 price being asked for the Silver Morning CD in its entirety. I don't see that as apple and oranges, but apples and apples. If one can't live without the five other cuts, then by all means pay the $24.00 (plus shipping). As another responder pointed out: "I suppose it's like any other kind of art, in that everyone has to judge its worth for themselves. Your choice is clear if you find the price of the art excessive."

I, too, support musicians by attending their concerts and buying their CD's directly from them, figuring that more of the money goes into the artist's pockets than buying through a store (be it on-line or a retail store). However, the most I have paid for CD's at concerts has been in the $15.00 to $20.00 range. And if you look at Mr. Rankin's other in-print CD's you'll see that the prices for the CD's are well below $24.00 ($15.00 for his Christmas Album from CDBaby, $15.05 for Song for You, from CDUniverse, $9.75 for Peaceful, also from CDUniverse, $10.99 for Professional Dreamer, from Amazon).

We do agree on one thing however, "Kenny's music and talent is a rarity in todays world." I have been following him and his career since his days on the Tonight Show. I've seen him in concert halls, barns, night clubs, and intimate supper clubs (where he thanked the quietness of the audience for eating with "rubber utensils"). I was throughly amazed the first time I heard him and continued to be amazed to this day.

    >Meaning no disrespect to you, Jazz Man, I just want to point out that Kenny's CD "Peaceful, The Best of Kenny Ranking", is just as advertised. The BEST of Kenny Rankin (up to that date anyway). Many artists compile a "best of" and fans buy them up. You are comparing apples to oranges with his CD's mentioned.

    >As for the price, it's all based on supply and demand. I, for one, do not see anything wrong with the price. I support musicians by purchasing through any method that will give them the greatest profit. I do not copy CD's for friends, but rather purchase them their own. I do not steal music online, nor do I purchase used CD's when new ones are available. I really think that if you are a true lover of music, when you make your purchases, you should do it intending to give back the greatest profit directly to them. After all, they give you the best of themselves.
