Six of the songs appear on the Rhino compilation "Peaceful The Best of Kenny Rankin" (still in print): Silver Morning, Blackbird, In The Name Of Love, Haven't We Met, Penny Lane and the "bonus" cut Why Do Fools Fall In Love. While I understand the economic pressures on musicians, it seems a bit excessive to be charging $24.00 for a CD, especially when six of the tracks are still available.

While I spend a fair amount of time reading forums and reviews of music, I have yet to respond or post my own opinion.... that is until I read this post.
Meaning no disrespect to you, Jazz Man, I just want to point out that Kenny's CD "Peaceful, The Best of Kenny Ranking", is just as advertised. The BEST of Kenny Rankin (up to that date anyway). Many artists compile a "best of" and fans buy them up. You are comparing apples to oranges with his CD's mentioned.

As for the price, it's all based on supply and demand. I, for one, do not see anything wrong with the price. I support musicians by purchasing through any method that will give them the greatest profit. I do not copy CD's for friends, but rather purchase them their own. I do not steal music online, nor do I purchase used CD's when new ones are available. I really think that if you are a true lover of music, when you make your purchases, you should do it intending to give back the greatest profit directly to them. After all, they give you the best of themselves.

Kenny's music and talent is a rarity in todays world. Twenty four dollars for a CD of his is a bargain.
