I was introduced to Kenny Rankin with the Silver Morning album (yeah, I'm an old guy - but I was young then!), and I just started chatting with someone who loves your music as much as I do. Couldn't resist grabbing some new stuff off the internet. That BET on JAZZ special is EXCELLENT and highly recommended to anyone who hasn't seen it. I'm getting a Rankin buzz. SO now I'm wondering if / when you'll be heading back towards home (the northeast). I'm out in CT and would love to see you perform in person. Any possibilities? thanks. Possibly the Turning Point in Piermont. Over by Rt9. I intend to catch him when he's around. My sister turned me on to Kenny a long time ago and it was easy to get hooked. There was a period where I drifted away, then got into jazz, then pulled out the acoustic again and now I've gone almost full circle. Hadn't heard anything by him for years and was very pleased to find the BET special and a couple of others that I picked up. That already put a smile on my face. I've had it two days and seen it three times. I'm glad Silver Morning is re-released. I'll own that one too. The vinyl is just too hard to fit into my dashboard player. Thanks for the info!
