Hi,
I am a 72 year old woman who now lives in Toronto Canada. I am originally from Montreal. I first heard Kenny Rankin in the early 70s. I was in my kitchen and "Haven't we met?"came on the radio (station CJAD) After a few bars, I immediately called the station to ask "Who was that singer you just played?" They told me and I and my whole family have been fans ever since. My late husband was a jazz musician and I was a jazz singer before we started our family (7 kids). We keep asking ourselves why your name is not a household word around the world. Is it by choice, or did "stuff" happen along the way? Glad Mel Torme had the sense to recognize you. It is your intonation, your timing , your phrasing (in someone else, I would want it more understated) but you know where you are going and always come back out at the right place...know what I mean? Just thought I would let you know ...
